Potato Growing Competition 2015

A great opportunity for children and adults, new and experienced gardeners alike, to have a go at growing and showing potatoes in a fun and informal competition.

Potatoes can be grown in the ground, raised beds or in pots and containers (or a bucket if you wish to enter class 3), so you don’t need lots of space.

Entry fee Adults £1.00 Children 50p which includes starter pack containing instructions and seed potatoes along with entry forms, available from our checkout.

To take part in the competition bring your entries along to Kershaw’s by 1.30 pm on Saturday 1st August 2015.  Weighing and judging will take place at 2pm.  There will be prizes for the best child’s entries and the best adult entries:

Class 1:  Children – 3 potatoes on a plate
Adults – 6 potatoes on a plate 

Class 2:  Any creature made from vegetables(must include a

Class 3:  Best weight of potatoes grown in a bucket from 1 seed
potato.  (must be brought in as complete plant still in
bucket, potatoes to be lifted at weigh in).
