This weekend at KERSHAWS…

January 30th, 2015

We are holding our potato festival!

At Kershaws we LOVE potatoes, after all they can be roasted, mashed, chipped or baked and are a real summer treat when freshly dug and lightly boiled with mint.

We are holding a Potato Weekend on Saturday 31st Jan and Sunday 1st February where you can come along and find out all about potatoes, what varieties are best for you, how to plant them etc.

There will also be fun potato activities for children 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm.

We would like to invite every man, woman and child within our community to have a go at growing potatoes and take part in Kershaw’s Annual Potato Growing Challenge.  This event is to encourage everyone to have a go at growing their own and is great fun for adults and children alike.

On the 1st August we will be holding a Yorkshire Day event, details of which will be announced later in the year, when we will be holding a fun potato show, to enable you to see how well you have done.  How many potatoes can you grow from one seed potato in a tub?

Stand by for further details….
