Delphinium grandiflorum “Summer Nights”

July 5th, 2014

“Summer Nights” is one of our favourites at the moment, it is very different from the traditional tall Delphiniums with their huge spikes of flowers which resemble rockets going off.

“Summer Nights” grows as a wonderful low, bushy mound of lacy green leaves, from these loose sprays of sky-blue to deep midnight-blue flowers develop throughout the summer.

“Summer Nights” is perfect for filling containers,  or even for edging the sunny border.

To keep the flowers coming all summer long remove the faded flower heads.

“Summer Nights is great grown for the house as a cut flower.

This is an ornamental plant, grown for its flowers, however it is harmful if eaten…
